The Marriage You Want

About this book

You want more than just a marriage that lasts. You want a marriage you love. We're going to show you how to create it.We all want a marriage that feels like home. We long for a partner who is there for us through all of life's challenges and griefs, who is in on all our inside jokes, who looks with hope toward the future with a shared faith and an arm firmly around our shoulder. But what actually works to get us there?Based on data from an all-new study of married couples, researchers Sheila Wray Gregoire and Dr. Keith Gregoire uncover the keys to the marriage you long for, including● which surprising struggle causes more long-term unhappiness than sex or money issues● when compromise can actually make things worse● how you might be prioritizing sex in the wrong way● why the "unfairness threshold" matters--and how to avoid it● how to uncover the real issue when you're in conflict (because it's usually not what you think)Rather than relying on gender stereotypes, they look at what actually creates intimacy, emotional health, and connection, asking deeper questions that lead to real healing and growth in your relationship with your spouse. With the evidence-based, Scripture-honoring advice in this book, the marriage you want may be closer than you imagine.
