If God Were a Great Big Bear

About this book

Revel in the joy of nature and the One who made it all. If God Were a Great Big Bear is a rhythmic meditation on the nature of God in the world. Through the eyes of a child, this picture book invites readers to imagine God creating each element of nature specifically for the benefit of the creatures and plants God lovingly made. If God were a mighty whale, she'd make vast, mysterious oceans, wouldn't she? If God were a wiggly worm, he'd make fallen leaves and rotting trees and rich earth, wouldn't he? Rushing streams, mountains full of caves, sun to warm flowers, trees blazing red and orange, and seas full of friends in every shape and size--God created them all! God is in all of creation, and God is in you and me. Creator God made a perfectly balanced and interconnected world to please not just us humans but every plant and animal, every planet and star in all creation. Award-winning author Paul Harbridge's lovely, lyrical text flows beautifully alongside Marta Dorado's dazzling illustrations of a world lush with color, light, and life. A perfect book for Easter, Earth Day, and any day.
