Birthday Bear

About this book

Mrs. & Mr. MacLeod create a wholly original birthday legend about an over-the-top, Birthday Bear who awaits an invitation to the birthday celebration! Beware! Beware! Of the Birthday Bear! It's made of teeth! And claws! And hair! Do NOT say its name! DO NOT, don't you dare! Or the terrifying beast will appear! And no one would want that. Right? Well, no one except Geraldine Grunion, who blows out all her birthday candles and shouts as loud as she possibly can, "BIRTHDAY BEAR!" Surprised are the Grunions when the Birthday Bear appears, hungry for sweet, sweet . . . children. The Grunions are off on a birthday adventure like none other full of secret garden secrets, a well-wishing wishing well, and ever looming huffs and puffs of confetti and birthday cake breath. Will Geraldine, Gerald, and Sheila outsmart the Birthday Bear? You'll be SURPRISED! The Birthday Bear celebrates the thrills of a birthday with extreme exuberance and a touch of delightful fright. Lyrically written and fantastically illustrated with dipped pen and ink cutout art. This children's birthday picture book is a gift to everyone invited to the party from the talented Mrs. & Mr. MacLeod.
