Autobiography of Saint Margaret Mary

About this book

"Autobiography of Saint Margaret Mary" provides a profound and intimate look into the life of the 17th-century French nun and mystic who became the foremost messenger of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Written under obedience to her superiors, this spiritual memoir details the extraordinary inner life of Margaret Mary Alacoque, from her early childhood and entrance into the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary to the celestial visions that would transform Catholic piety. The narrative captures the saint's deep humility, her intense physical and spiritual trials, and her unwavering commitment to her divine calling. Central to the work are the revelations she received at Paray-le-Monial, where she was entrusted with the mission of establishing the Feast of the Sacred Heart and spreading a message of divine love and reparation. As both a historical document and a classic of devotional literature, "Autobiography of Saint Margaret Mary" remains an essential text for understanding the origins of one of the most significant devotions in the Catholic Church. It offers readers an authentic encounter with a soul dedicated to total self-surrender and a vivid portrayal of the mystical experiences that have inspired millions of faithful over the centuries. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
