Let Us Break Bread Together

About this book

An updated and repackaged classic, giving modern believers a life-changing historical view of Christian community Contemporary believers are once again turning to history to find a solid foundation for their faith. What better place to search than in the great hymns which have anchored centuries of believers in rich reminders of truth? With selections compiled from Osbeck's best-selling books, this updated collection of stories reminds the reader of the power of God's community. Let Us Break Bread Together acknowledges God's covenant "to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine," and yet also reveals that God's life-giving promise is often delivered through the hands, feet, and words of the faithful. Using the thirty hymns as an anchor, the readings reveal practical ways believers can find, invest in, and receive encouragement, assistance, and exhortation from the body of believers. Each reading contains a hymn along with Scripture, wisdom from historical Christians, a meditation, and a practical application section.
