Mr Darwin's Birds

About this book

Two far flying finches from South America encounter the distant islands of the Galapagos! What strange new animals will they find there? What changes will they have to make to adapt to their new home? And, most importantly, will they find their favourite kind of food? The aim of this book is to creatively illustrate one of the core concepts of science in a manner that is accessible and engaging for young children. Darwin's theory of evolution changed how we view all life on Earth; instead of permanently fixed, perfect species there is constant change to potentially find something new and better suited to the environment. Introducing children to evolution and natural selection can encourage their curiosity and critical thinking about the natural world.
