How delivery and unused allowance work

Contiguous-US delivery only. Shipping is estimated from this edition’s weight; the tax allowance is 8.25% of book plus shipping, not final tax. Shopify checks the real total after the reader claims. Any unused allowance, after the disclosed processing costs where applicable, is queued for a proportional refund to supporters’ original payment methods. A cost shortfall pauses ordering for review—no extra charge to you or the reader.

Processing is counted per payment. There is no campaign-wide processing reserve. Your chosen total includes processing; only the amount left after Stripe’s actual fee counts toward this book’s goal.

How each payment works

The preview estimates standard US card fees of 2.9% + 30¢. Your card or Kuumba’s account rates may differ. We record Stripe’s actual fee after payment. “Fund the remainder” estimates one payment to finish the net goal; a higher fee may leave a small balance. No one is automatically charged extra.

Payments start at $5, with a smaller final payment allowed (minimum $1). Any surplus after the book, delivery, tax and actual processing costs is queued for proportional refunds after ordering. If Kuumba cancels before ordering or the campaign expires unfunded, settled payments are refunded in full; Kuumba covers processing costs that Stripe does not return.
