What began as an ordinary Saturday morning became a life-altering fight for survival. In 1999, fourteen-year-old Val was abducted at gunpoint from her own home and endured unimaginable trauma. But'Round the Bend is more than the story of a horrific crime. It is the story of what came after. Through deeply personal reflections, family memories, interviews of those that were affected, and years of healing, Valorie shares an honest account of faith, resilience, forgiveness, and the difficult journey toward reclaiming a life that could have been defined by tragedy. This memoir is ultimately a testament to hope, that even after life's darkest moments, healing is possible, and grace can be found around the bend.
