About

Read in English by LibriVox Volunteers. The children Don and Joyce spend their summer vacation on their grandparent's farm. But the highlight of their time turns out to be the stories about 12 different 'bees' that Grandma tells them each evening. As Joyce reflects: "I was happy every minute, even when the old turkey gobbler was chasing me around the tree. But what I liked best was to sit out on the porch in the evenings, and listen to the katydids and whippoorwills, and watch the stars come out one by one. And then it was so nice to sit close to Grandma's old rocking-chair and listen to her stories about the Hive of Busy Bees". - Summary by Adapted from Ending Narrator: Louise Jaeschke Grandma: Patty H Joyce: ShrimpPhish Don: Alexandria Adair Grandpa: Larry Wilson Minor role(s) performed by:, Jenn Broda, InTheDesert, mleigh For further information, including links to online text, reader information, RSS feeds, CD cover or other formats (if available), please go to the LibriVox catalog page for this recording.
